Today, as we celebrate Janmashtami, we have two inspiring women from
our Indian mythology – Ma Devaki and Ma Yashoda.
Devaki, Mother of Lord Shri Krishna
Ma Devaki teaches us the values of resilience, love, sacrifice, faith, and devotion. She stayed determined, devoted, and resilient through hardships and numerous challenges. Her love for her son, Shri Krishna, is celebrated, and her separation from Shri Krishna is a testimony to selflessness, her sacrifice for the lord who protects the world.
Devaki was a devotee of Lord Vishnu, and her son, Shri Krishna, was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Her devotion and faith in Lord Vishnu helped protect Shri Krishna.
Her motherly strength, in the face of adversity, is revered and remembered on this day. Every mother finds inspiration in Ma Devaki to bring up her child with strength, love, and dedication.
Mother Yashoda is a loving, caring mother who raised Lord Shri Krishna as her child. Despite being known for her many attempts to control Shri Krishna and punish him for his mischievous acts, her love and devotion to Shri Krishna is revered.
Her motherly love is unwavering care and unconditional, pure, and beyond imagination.
She cared for Shri Krishna’s well-being and protected her deeply.
She displays the kind of love for Shri Krishna as a devotee would have for God. Her devotion to Shri Krishna speaks of her connection to the divine.
Yashoda Maiya looks after Shri Krishna with values of discipline, love, patience, and understanding, which every parent would want in nurturing and raising their children.
